Remnants management for goods sold by the metre

The module ‘Remnants management for goods sold by the metre’ coordinates the reservation and picking of goods which are sold by the metre. The reservation logic in PROLAG®World ensures that partial quantities are used up before breaking open a new storage unit. This helps reduce the number of storage units holding partial quantities, makes maximum use of remnants and saves resources.

Example:
There are three hose reels in the warehouse holding 10 m, 30 m and 50 m of the same hose.
Three orders are received, one for 40 m of hose and the other two each for 15 m.
PROLAG®World ensures that the 40 m order is picked from the 50 m reel, and the 2 x 15 m orders from the 30 m reel.
The remaining 10m can be used for a future order.
