Release-Notes 3.1.5

1. PROLAG®World Basic module

Extension of the space occupancy proposal with regard to the height SC strategy

Relevant module: Goods receipt - PROLAG®World Basic (100-01)

Benefits: A new feature is that the space occupancy proposal now also takes into account the wall height of the transport load unit when searching for storage locations, not just the article dimensions.

Description: The transport load unit type has also been extended to include the "wall height". This means that it is now possible to specify not only the intrinsic height (e.g. the base thickness), but also how high the side wall of the load unit type is, if applicable. This is especially important if the load unit type can also be loaded up to a greater height than that of the side wall of the container.

Example: Box with wall height of 30 cm. No intrinsic height. The box may be loaded up to 45 cm. -> This is CURRENTLY not possible (only with intrinsic height and "height is load unit height") as the load unit type height can be configured to be either 30 cm (overfilling not allowed) or 45 cm (an SC strategy is then established for >=45 cm). -> The actual wall height of the load unit type can now be defined using the new field. The configuration of the box is then as follows: the load unit type height is 45 cm, the wall height is 30 cm and the intrinsic height of the box is 0 cm. This means that the load unit type can be filled up to a height of 45 cm. If the space occupancy proposal now supplies a goods height, the maximum of "goods height + intrinsic height" (x+0 cm) and wall height (30 cm) is used to establish the SC strategy. Cage pallet with wall height of 100 cm. Intrinsic height of 10 cm and fill height is allowed to be 120 cm.-> Load unit type height is 120 cm. The wall height is given as 100 cm and the intrinsic height as 10 cm, which means that the load unit type can be filled up to 110 cm (120 cm - 10 cm). If the space occupancy proposal now supplies a goods height, the maximum of "goods height + intrinsic height" (x+10 cm) and the wall height (100 cm) is used to establish the SC strategy.

2. Global processes

Do not stop shortage item order until the packing area has been reached

Relevant module: Shortage item handling - crossdocking (205-15)

Benefits: Orders and/or areas are not blocked unnecessarily.

Description: Previously, an order that did not allow partial delivery was immediately "stopped" if secondary picking could not find enough goods after reduced retrieval. No further lists for this stopped shipment could then be transported. The purpose of this measure is to ensure that space is not unnecessarily occupied if in the end the order might not be delivered anyway. A warehouse administrator can decide whether to wait for the arrival of new goods, or to allow partial delivery with the help of the order control centre, or even to cancel the order. Now it can be configured that the order is not stopped until the packing area. The prerequisite is that the order’s retrieval control includes the packing area. The new setting means that it is possible to pick all goods until the packing area has been reached even though partial delivery is not allowed and late shortage items have occurred during picking. Once at the packing area, the goods must be packed and then booked to the clearing area. A warehouse administrator decides with the help of the clearing template whether to wait for the arrival of new goods, or to allow partial delivery, or even to cancel the order.

Examples:

a) Previous or standard procedure: stop immediately.

An order has 20 items and partial delivery is not allowed. The goods are consolidated, packed and dispatched. Two items have already been transferred to consolidation, but for the third item the picker detects a shortage item and automatic secondary picking no longer finds any suitable goods in the warehouse. The shipment is stopped. This means that the remaining 17 items are not brought to consolidation and no consolidation shelves are unnecessarily occupied. The next day, new goods arrive and are put into storage. The shortage items trigger automatically processes the order and removes the stop indicator. List consolidation continues and the lists can then be packed.

b) New setting option: stop at packing area, optimum picking package reservation

Orders are reserved optimally according to picking packages, consolidated and then packed. At consolidation, there are load units containing goods that have not yet been split because the same goods are needed for several orders and splitting does not occur until they arrive at the packing area. If a further list is now picked for one of these orders and a shortage item arises due to reduced retrieval, the order is not stopped. This means that the load unit can be taken, split and packed at the packing area. Only the shipment with a shortage item and partial delivery not allowed must be booked to the clearing area. All other orders that were initially picked on the same load unit can be delivered.

c) New setting option: stop at packing area, multi-order picking with conveyor technology

Another example would be sequential picking on different floors connected by conveyors and meeting areas. An order that does not allow partial deliveries requires goods from 3 different floors. The lists are picked one after the other on the respective floor using transport trolleys, brought to the next floor using conveyor technology and set down at the meeting area for further picking. There are several boxes for several orders on the trolleys. If a shortage item occurs in one of the orders due to late reduced retrieval, everything is transported onwards to the packing area. No transport trolleys stop at the meeting areas because no order on the transport trolley has been stopped. Only the shortage item order that does not allow partial delivery must be booked into the clearing area at the packing area. All other orders can be delivered.

3. Production

Open additional PDFs at production

Relevant module: Production (50X) and print external documents in workflow (209-10)

Benefits: PDFs can now be opened directly in the production template without having to be printed first.

Description: If additional texts of the type PRODUCTION DOCUMENT PRINT are linked to a production order, these are displayed as selectable items in the upper section of the production template. Using [CTRL]+mouse click, several PDFs can be selected. With the button "Open selection", each PDF is then opened in a separate browser tab . They no longer have to be printed beforehand in order to be viewed, as was previously the case.
