Working at CIM

Since it was founded in 1985, CIM GmbH has become firmly established as a leading supplier of warehouse management software. We’ve now grown to almost 100 employees, and our solutions are implemented around the globe in warehouses of all sizes from all sectors.

Our family-run company has a healthy mix of employees from 13 nations including apprentices, new and long-time employees as well as equal numbers of men and women, fostering a stable and diverse company culture bound by shared values and principles.

We’re continually expanding to new locations for greater proximity to our customers and to the best talents.

What motivates us at CIM

A healthy and happy working environment, ecologically sustainable working methods, respect for each other and for nature, a strong team spirit and the freedom to make decisions: these are the ingredients which cement CIM’s position as market leader and technological driver in the intralogistics software sector. Our warehouse management software PROLAG World not only shapes the day-to-day life of our colleagues. We define processes and structures for numerous logistics and production companies of all sizes across the globe, paving the way for tomorrow’s intralogistics processes.

From resource management and putaway strategies to packaging materials, there are endless opportunities for combining economic growth with sustainable action. If our software prompts just one global logistics company to choose a more sustainable form of packaging for tens of thousands of items per week, carbon emissions are reduced plus time and money saved. And PROLAG World creates a measurable impact in logistics. We take these responsibilities and opportunities very seriously– it’s what drives our motivation on a daily basis to continuously improve our products and our services.

A fair and socially responsible employer

CIM provides modern, open workspaces and a productive, positive and respectful working environment. We are mindful of our employees’ individual circumstances. Our amazing IT team provides a range of solutions for hybrid or remote working, while the HR department does everything it can to offer part-time employment. Individual provisions can be made for parental leave or family caregiving leave, and there are a host of other free or discounted services to promote health and wellbeing at work. Numerous social activities are organised throughout the year and everyone’s welcome to join in. Our membership of the Familienpakt Bayern (Bavarian Family Pact) underscores our commitment to being a fair and family-friendly employer.

As a family-run company, CIM has a clear succession plan in place for handover to the next generation, providing long-term stability and security for our employees, partners and customers. Our management team attaches great importance to a flat organisational structure where employees are more involved in important conversations and everyone can see their contribution to the growth of the company. This high level of involvement and accountability is a key component of our workplace culture and makes everyone feel part of the bigger picture.

Variety and diversity in the workplace

Working for CIM not only means a secure job but an interesting and flexible work environment. For several years now we’ve been working with agile development methods based on the Scrum framework – an organisational method which both promotes and requires interdisciplinary collaboration and breaks down divisions between different departments.

Working on the software, its functions and capabilities literally becomes a matter involving the entire company. Unexpected synergies can emerge, for example, if someone from marketing takes on the role of scrum master for the development team, gaining fresh insights into the heart of our software. A change of rhythm can generate new energy and inspiration for our own areas of expertise and provides a better understanding of other people’s roles and tasks within the company. And being forerunners with regard to decentralised working models, we’re not always anchored to a desk. Our very own video technology means we can easily stay in touch while working from home. And it also helps employees at other sites feel connected and integrated.

Our company culture

A strong teamwork culture and organisational harmony are part of company life at CIM. Openness, solidarity and respectful communication are the cornerstones of our philosophy. Our annual calendar features a number of regular events and gatherings.

Everything from ski trips and fun runs to our summer party and spontaneous hiking or theatre meetups – we enjoy socialising at CIM. We’re particularly proud of our internal working groups focusing on topics such as design, terminology or company and product sustainability. Every individual is welcome to share their interests, expertise and skills to shape our workplace.
