Dispatch area

The dispatch area comes after the packing area in the sequence of warehousing processes. The dispatch area is responsible for managing transport vehicles such as a lorries, goods trains, ships and aeroplanes, and for loading articles onto the relevant transport vehicle. The vehicles then transport the goods/shipments from the warehouse to the customer.

Dispatch area

Transport vehicles are managed at the dispatch area and loaded to transport goods to the customer. Incoming transport vehicles are entered in this module in PROLAG®World. Packed shipments at the dispatch are assigned to the relevant transport vehicles and then loaded onto the vehicles. To be able react quicker to unexpected events such as a vehicle breaking down, packing units can be loaded even if the relevant shipment has not be specifically assigned to a transport vehicle.

Once all goods have been loaded onto a vehicle, the vehicle is closed and can leave the warehouse. Haulier labels, freight lists, and delivery notes are created and printed by PROLAG®World. The shipping process is closed in the system and all relevant information is reported back to the ERP system.
