Article outer-packaging

The article outer packaging allows a hierarchical nesting of packagings based on the base unit of an article.

Article outer-packaging

The following applies:

  • Each unit of quantity and each reference unit can feature once per article.
  • Each quantity unit apart from the base unit must be a counting unit in order to avoid a duplicate definition of conversions.

If used, the GTIN (EAN; GS1) is found on the outer packaging in the form of a barcode. The outer packaging is taken into account when a purchase order or delivery order is transferred from the host system, when a purchase order is entered manually and for order entry.

The quantity in the purchase order item or delivery item is converted to the base unit of the article. If picking using PROLAG®Go, the user can display the text describing the relevant article which specifies the quantities of the largest possible outer packagings.
