Two-step picking

In the first step of this process, identical articles (from different shipments) are pooled in the warehouse when a stock reservation is made and retrieved (picked) by a member of staff. In the second step, the picked goods are distributed among the various orders/shipments. This means that individual steps can be bundled effectively.

Two-step picking

Two-step picking increases the efficiency of your picking operations. In contrast to one-step picking, two-step picking in PROLAG®World is not order-based. The entire available quantity of an article can be picked for multiple orders simultaneously. The purpose of two-step picking is to minimise the number of picks made at the storage location. The retrieval and customer order processes are separated.

  • In the first step, identical articles (from different orders) are consolidated in the warehouse before picking and retrieved in one single step.
  • In the second step, the picked goods are distributed among the orders or shipments using a split list which is created in the system.
