Inbound goods inspection prior to goods entry

A scheduled putaway and a purchase order are prerequisites for this process. The purchase order type is a key factor for the inspection: in order for the inspection to take place, the ‘early inbound goods inspection’ option must be selected in the purchase order type. This ensures that the inspection is set up for each purchase order item.

If a purchase order exists, the inspection is performed on the mobile device while unloading the stock. 

If any defects are found, the receiving process can be cancelled and the goods sent back to the supplier. The goods receiving process cannot be completed until the inspection has been performed successfully.

Purchase order items which need to be inspected (the 'early inbound goods inspection required' option is set) can be entered at the I-point once the inspection is complete. Whether a purchase order item needs to be inspected depends on the settings in the purchase order type.
