Drive-in rack storage

A drive-in racking system comprises channels which can only be accessed from one side to insert or remove a load unit. In contrast, a block storage area can be accessed from several sides. During putaway processing, PROLAG®World makes sure that identical stock – stock with the same separation criteria – is placed in the same drive-in channel. A drive-in racking system comprises channels which can only be accessed from one side to insert or remove a load unit. Stock retrieval is generally based on the FIFO principle (first in, first out). From a logistics perspective, however, it makes more sense for drive-in installations to work on a LIFO principle (last in, first out) so that there is no need for stock rotation. If the defined stock separation criteria are identical within a channel, PROLAG®World allows retrieval based on the LIFO method by swapping stock (in the system) within a channel. This also guarantees traceability of the pallets based on the SSCC.
