Wir von der CIM GmbH aus Fürstenfeldbruck blicken auf ein erfolgreiches Jahr 2023 zurück. Neben zahlreichen erfolgreichen Projekten können wir als WMS-Hersteller mehrere Marktneuheiten vorweisen.

Wir sind einer der führenden Hersteller von Lagerverwaltungssoftware und befinden uns im wichtigen Intralogistik-Markt als unabhängiger Softwarehersteller derzeit auf Wachstumskurs.

Wie in kaum einer anderen Branche sind Daten die Ursache dafür, weshalb Unternehmen sich früher oder später für eine Warehouse-Management-Software entscheiden. Listensteuerungen oder auch das im ERP-System integrierte WMS bieten ab einer gewissen Komplexität der Intralogistik gar kein oder nur noch ein begrenztes Optimierungspotential.

Moving from theory to practice, Andreas then gives a live demo of the order picking process using a backhand scanner.

CIM donates to the fundraising campaign “Brucker help Ukraine”

CIM will be attending this year’s LogiMAT from 31 May to 2 June, highlighting new developments in its renown intralogistics software. Interest in the new user interface for the logistics suite has been enormous. The new browser-based interface is available as a mobile app, is extremely intuitive and boasts a modern design for an optimal user experience. Updates on the PROLAG Hazmat feature will also be available at the fair. And CIM will be presenting PROLAG Transport, its brand-new extension for seamlessly integrating fleet and route management into goods issue processes. The team at CIM is looking forward to welcoming visitors in hall 8, stand F58.

Paula Herold is studying computer science in Munich and is currently employed by CIM as a working student for software development.

Sustainability is important not only in terms of product marketing strategies – company employees are increasingly keen to get involved in creating and promoting an eco-friendly office culture.

When it comes to climate protection, Fürstenfeldbruck software company CIM scores high not just with its warehouse management software PROLAG®World – an in-house sustainability group was set up a few years ago to encourage an environmentally conscious workplace. Besides offering activities and workshops for co-workers, the group has introduced specific measures to cut down on packaging waste, shorten transport routes and boost sustainable business travel.

2022 heralds a consolidation of ongoing change processes. There are no major technological breakthroughs expected, but leading software providers see an increase in the trend towards fully automated systems.

Due to the problem of labour shortage which has been compounded by the coronavirus pandemic, standard software seems set to become a firmly established part of the WMS landscape. So no big surprises in store. However, 2022 could still be the year that impacts the future of the sector like no year before.

Family-run software company CIM GmbH in Fürstenfeldbruck is currently preparing to hand over to the next generation. Hannelore Mayr is set to lead her parents’ company into the future along with her sister Friederike Kammann. With a background in geoecology and agricultural sciences, Hannelore is convinced that new forms of organisation will enable the company to do away with hierarchies in future. We met her to talk about working for the family business, the handover to the next generation and the benefits of logistics software. PROLAG®World Production has seen significant innovation since release 3.1.7. Orders can now be marked as ‘repair orders’ in the system. Repair orders are orders in which stock (raw material items) can be used to repair other stock (finished parts) which is already available in the warehouse, and which is then put into storage as new stock. Repair orders are created manually or transferred from the host.

This heightened the popularity of illegal file-sharing networks for trading computer programs and other intellectual property. Ethical issues around ownership in the IT sector continue to dominate political discourse – from intellectual property right through to user privacy and cyber sovereignty.
