Release notes 2.9.4

1. PROLAG®World Basic

Country settings

Relevant module: PROLAG®World Basic (100-01)

Benefits:

Country settings such as country codes and international dialling codes can now be managed centrally in PROLAG®World.

Description:

There is a new master data table named “Country settings”. The table currently contains country codes and international dialling codes. Further fields will be added to the table as required.

2. Goods receipt

Container type

Relevant module: Transport Vehicle Management at Goods Receipt (202-02)

Benefits:

Container types are no longer defined by the system but can be configured and managed individually.

Description:

Users can create their own container types in the “container type” template.

3. Goods issue

New additional text type KONTROLLE-DOKUMENTENDRUCK

Relevant modules: Checking (203-10), Packing Area (403-01)

Benefits:

External documents, such as invoice documents, which have been transmitted by the host or entered manually in the order header or delivery item can now be printed at the checking area. Invoice documents can be printed, for example. Documents with additional texts entered in the delivery order can also be printed by choosing the appropriate button.

Description:

If there are additional texts assigned the type KONTROLLE-DOKUMENTENDRUCK for an order or delivery item, they are displayed for printing in the “order checking” template.

Which printer is used to create the documents is configured in the logic point named "KONTROLLE-DOKUMENTENDRUCK".

By choosing the "print all" button, documents with the additional text type "PACKPLATZ-DOKUMENTENDRUCK" are printed at the packing area and "KONTROLLE-DOKUMENTENDRUCK" documents at the checking area.

Additional texts requiring confirmation
Relevant modules: Checking (203-10), Packing Area (403-01)

Benefits:

There is a new indicator at the checking and packing areas named “confirmation required”. It can be set for documents and additional texts which have been transmitted by the host or entered manually in the order header.

Description:

Three additional text types are currently supported: KONTROLLE-DOKUMENTENDRUCK, PACKPLATZ-DOKUMENTENDRUCK and PACKPLATZ-ABSCHLUSS-TEXTDIALOG. The user cannot complete processing of the delivery order until all additional texts which require confirmation have been printed and confirmed. In the case of the last additional text type, the shipment is stopped after the last packing unit has been closed. The shipment is not released again until the user has confirmed the message.

Each time an additional text is confirmed, the action is logged in the history.

Example:

This prevents users from forgetting to attach an invoice at the packing area. Which user confirmed attachment of the invoice and when is logged.

4. Relocation/Replenishment

Storage group – not for relocation
Relevant module: Destination Relocation Stock/Load Unit (204)

Benefits:
Selected storage groups can be hidden in the "destination relocation" template.

Description:
If the "not for relocation” option is set in a storage group, it means that the storage group cannot be selected as the destination for a relocation. Exception: If the storage group is defined in the article master as the standard storage group, it is displayed even if the "not for relocation” option is set.

5. Global processes

Extension of ABC analysis/replenishment

Relevant module: ABC Classification Tool (205-05)

Benefits:

Particularly for seasonal articles, it is now easier to assess whether the ABC classification of an article can be retained or if it needs to be changed.

Description:

There are two new fields in the "ABC analysis - allocate strategy" and "ABC analysis (replenishment) - allocate strategy":

  • last access: creation date of the most recent entry in the access history for an article during the ABC analysis period (date of last pick/retrieval)
  • average retrieval quantity during evaluation period: average quantity retrieved each time an article is accessed during the ABC analysis period (quantity per pick)

6. Host interface

Provide host system with computer and/or printer IP for assignment

Relevant module: PROLAG®World Host Interface (207-16)

Benefits:

It is now easier to select the correct printer if the delivery note is printed by the host system.

Description:

The printer determined at the logic point can be entered in the feedback message for the delivery order. The host system then knows which printer to use to print the delivery note.

Example:

If a customer has five packing areas, it is now easier for the host system to print the delivery note at the correct packing area.

7. Printing

Print logic for delivery notes based on order type
Relevant module: Printing (209)

Benefits:

Configuration settings can now be made for individual transport vehicles to determine whether or not a delivery note is printed.

Description:

There is a new order type for delivery item orders: the settings are made in the order control centre, the order type only has to be changed in PROLAG®World up to the status "assigned to shipment". A feedback message is triggered once the transport vehicle has the status "closed". Only one feedback message is created for all shipments with this order type. The message only includes the packing units which have been loaded onto the transport vehicle. The existing feedback messages are not created for this order type. When the transport vehicle is closed, the delivery note is printed containing only the part loaded in the shipment. Printing is based on the logic point search (according to user, workstation, mobile device, and so on).

Example:

A customer has shipments which are distributed across multiple transport vehicles. The customer wants to print one delivery note for each transport vehicle, but only for special order types. All existing order types should print the delivery note at the packing area.

8. PROLAG®Go – Mobile processes

Addition of list information to LU info
Relevant module: PROLAG®Go – Basic Mobile Processes Module (300-01)

Benefits:
Much more information can now be displayed on the mobile device under menu item “LU info”. This generates increased transparency.

Description:
The mobile device’s menu item "LU info" now displays whether there is an existing list for a specific load unit (and if so its mode of transport and destination storage area). The device also displays whether stock on the LU is reserved and which orders are reserving this stock. In addition, the device indicates whether stock is reserved for replenishment and shows the list associated with any replenishment.

Location-managed transport trolley with consolidation
Relevant modules: Retrieval and Relocation with Transport Trolley (303-16), Consolidation (303-04)

Benefits:
Additional processes are now available for location-managed transport trolleys.

Description:

The following actions are now possible:

  • Entire location-managed transport trolleys can be set down at consolidation.
  • Boxes can be set down individually at consolidation from location-managed transport trolleys.
  • The picking cons. process can be used to pick from location-managed transport trolleys that have been set down.

The android device always displays the transport trolley ID and, for location-managed trolleys, the position of the box on the trolley, in the latter case using the format configured in the "TT format class” (TT barcode width or TT barcode width depth).

Picking consolidation – configuring sorting options for shipments
Relevant module: PROLAG®Go – Consolidation (303-04)

Benefits:

The shipment sorting options can be configured so that the mobile device collects items as individually prioritised for transport from consolidation onwards.

As a result, processes can be handled flexibly and efficiently.

Description:
Sorting of the lists/shipments displayed in the mobile device can be configured for transport from the consolidation area to the next station.

Example:
There are shipments at consolidation that are not due to be transported onwards to their destination until the next day (using the delivery date as the guiding criterion). These shipments should not be displayed in the "picking consolidation" process until all lists for shipments in which the current day has been specified as the delivery date have been processed. This is now a configurable option.

9. Shipping system

DPD: Service Predict
Relevant module: Parcel Delivery Service DPD (403-05)

Benefits:

The "Predict" service provided by DPD can be used. Recipients can be informed in advance about the scheduled time of delivery and alternative delivery options can be selected.

Description:

The "Predict by email" and "Predict by text message" options are now available when DPD is selected as the shipping company. An email address and a telephone number must be entered in the relevant service information fields in order to use these options. Once added, the telephone or email information is applied to the delivery order in advance. DPD requires this service to be used for ordinary and C.O.D. packages in the B2C sector as otherwise additional costs are incurred for repeated delivery attempts. “Predict” cannot be used for express, carriage forward or hazardous goods shipments. However, no costs are incurred for additional delivery attempts in these cases.

SOAP web service for PostCH

Relevant module: Creation of Certificate of Entry (403-10)

Benefits:

PROLAG®World now includes the haulier "PostCH" (Swiss Post) with the corresponding parcel delivery service format.

Description:

Shipping orders can be sent from the packing area to the Swiss Post using the SOAP web service. An order number is then generated and entered as the parcel ID haulier in the packing unit. The necessary PDF label is created and attached to the package by the packer.

10. Hazardous materials, hazardous goods

New features for hazardous materials/goods

Relevant modules: Hazardous Goods Master (620-01), Printing of ADR Hazardous Goods List (623-01), Limited Quantity (625-01)

Benefits:
New fields and functions: IMO (maritime freight) can now be handled. IATA (air freight) has been provided in the basic data. Handling of parcel delivery services/forwarders when generating data via interfaces has been improved.

Description:
Several fields are available in “package labelling”. New information such as limited quantity labelling for packaging and individually packaged goods is displayed.

Effective immediately, "transport documents" and “package labelling data” are no longer deleted as soon as a shipment or freight list is deleted. Data remains available and can be called up using the shipment number, freight list or LU ID. There is a scheduled task for deleting data records after a specific and configurable period of time. The table "ADR special regulations" has been deleted. The table has been replaced by several new fields in "hazardous goods", in which any number of special regulations can be specified for ADR, IMO and IATA, or printouts can be initiated, for example.

Segregation groups can be edited subsequently in the "transport document" and "package labelling” templates. Notes (ADR & IMDG) can now be added to the transport document. When changes are made in the above templates, for example to the hazmat sign, notes, etc.), a comment regarding each change must be made.

11. Transport

Distribution of pallets within automated warehouse drive-in storage rows
Relevant modules: Automated Warehouse (7xx)

Benefits:

You can use this module to display all existing stock for a particular article in PROLAG®World and to identify any small quantities so that these can be compressed onto one pallet, for example. PROLAG®World initiates the required relocations automatically in the background.

The module can also be used to streamline order handling. All pallets for several orders can be cumulated and distributed uniformly across various aisles to optimise use of the available capacity and to save time.

Description:

The objective is to retrieve all pallets associated with an order simultaneously / in parallel. A scheduled task is used to achieve this goal by calculating an average for all pallets associated with an order relative to the available aisles and, if possible, initiates relocations to achieve the most uniform distribution possible.
