1. PROLAG®Go
Change picking sequence using function key
Relevant module: PROLAG®Go 30x
Benefits:
Uers can select an alternative picking sequence (site-specific).
Description:
When a user scans the source location or source load unit during picking, they can select an alternative picking sequence, e.g. sorting class. There must be an alternative sorting sequence specified in the print area.
Example:
A picker in a high-bay storage area first collects all picking lists from the ‘bottom left’ and processes them using optimised pick paths. The picker then goes to the ‘top right’ and collects more lists. The route optimisation functionality sends the picker to the ‘bottom left’ before the orders are processed using the same sorting sequence as before.
The picker can reverse the picking sequence of the lists at the touch of a button (function key). This means that it is always possible to pick everything from the ‘top right’.
Transport trolley required at mobile I-point
Relevant module: PROLAG®Go - mobile I-point 302-03_01
Benefits:
You are now reminded to select a transport trolley at the mobile I-point, if applicable.
Description:
You can select the ‘transport trolley required for goods receipt’ option in the transport LU type template to stipulate that a transport trolley needs to be used at the mobile (android) I-point.
Example:
A transport trolley is required for certain transport LUs, such as Euro pallets. When an employee posts one of these transport LUs at the I-point, they are automatically prompted to select a transport trolley.
2. Automated storage
Compress containers at picking station
Relevant module: 205-03 Warehouse reorganisation (stock compression)
Benefits:
The extension for compressing containers at the picking station ensures more efficient utilisation of your automated storage areas. You increase the fill level in your warehouse and reduce the number of picks. This reduces picking time and saves resources.
Description:
It is now possible to compress partially filled containers into one central container at the picking station in PROLAG®World. A special selection template lets you choose which articles you want to compress. Compression (UMWBV) lists are created in the system. The automated storage manager (AutolagerManager) checks whether there are any UMWBV lists. If there are, it looks for a suitable picking station where the containers can be compressed. If a suitable picking station is found, the compression function is triggered by the system.
Example:
To achieve maximum flexibility with regard to stock retrieval, a customer ensures that the same article can be accessed at various different storage locations within an automated storage area. Because of the way the retrieval strategy is configured, a number of partially filled containers have accumulated. The customer applies the function for stock compression: the partial containers are identified and compressed up to a maximum fill level. This involves transporting the partial containers to the picking station and transferring the articles into one central container.
