Release notes 3.1.1

1. Goods issue

Fast packing area - extension for orders that do not have an identical structure and haulier

Relevant module: Packing area (403-01)

Benefits: There is a new feature in two-step reservation whereby shipments that do not have an identical structure and haulier can be grouped together and packed at the packing area using the fast packing mode.

Description: When a list is set down at the packing area, PROLAG®World checks whether fast packing is activated in the retrieval control. If fast packing is active, the list is divided into multiple lists each with the same structure and haulier. This means that the shipments can be packed using the automatic fast packing mode. Lists which are not all for the same haulier can also be packed using manual fast packing.

2. Shipping

Loading without assignment to a transport vehicle

Relevant module: Dispatch area (403-21)

Benefits: Packing units can now be loaded without having to assign the shipment to a transport vehicle, allowing you to react quicker to unexpected events such as a vehicle breaking down.

Description: Haulier functionality can be configured in PROLAG®World so that loading takes place with or without assignment to a transport vehicle. If the option to load without allocation to transport vehicles has been selected, all packing units for the relevant haulier can be loaded without first allocating the relevant shipment to a transport vehicle. The standard setting is to load without allocation to transport vehicles. It is not possible to print an advance freight list for the standard setting. In the event that an entire shipment is to be transported with one transport vehicle, the first packing unit determines the transport vehicle for the rest of the shipment.

Note: Loading without assignment to a transport vehicle is currently not supported in the Dock & Yard process.

3. Global processes

Optimal secondary picking for two-step shortage item orders

Relevant modules:

  • Shortage item handling/Crossdocking 205-15
  • Picking for multiple shipments with splitting at packing area PW_203_06_2

Benefits: Any shortage items can be picked later using the same process as for the original picking package.

Description: If orders were originally reserved together in the same picking package using the two-step reservation process due to late splitting at the packing area – one-piece orders or orders with the same order structure, for example – they are reserved using the same process if there are shortage items. This is only possible if there are no goods at the packing area yet.

This means that only shipments that were already together previously end up in the same picking package. If orders have the same article as a shortage item but were not previously in the same picking package, they are reserved using the one-step reservation process. If packing of an order has already started, any shortage items are also reserved in a single step. At the end of shortage items processing, the highest allowed status for picking for multiple shipments with splitting at the packing area is ‘checked’.

With this scheduled task, secondary picking is not performed if ‘partial delivery’ is allowed in the order and the goods are already at the packing area. As an alternative, the user can choose the 'secondary picking' button in the clearing template. It is important to note that the individual secondary picking lists hold back the shipments until the list has also arrived at the packing area. Otherwise, space might be blocked in the meantime for longer than necessary.
