Release notes 3.1.4

1. Goods issue

Order analysis - change retrieval control for order analysis

Relevant module: Order analysis (203-30)

Benefits: New assignment configuration that can be used during order analysis to automatically change the retrieval control based on the original retrieval control. This allows a specific retrieval control to be assigned to certain delivery orders.

Description: An assignment can be defined in the order analysis configuration.
Original retrieval controls and target retrieval controls are specified in the assignment configuration. During order analysis, the retrieval control of the delivery orders is changed to the new target retrieval control based on the original retrieval control.

Example: Delivery orders that only require one piece of a particular article are to be reserved and released together. However, the parcels should contain at least 10 delivery orders (i.e. 10.0 pieces). These delivery orders are assigned a special retrieval control which skips consolidation. If there are now fewer delivery orders, however, these orders end up in the position for the remaining orders. In this case, these delivery orders are to be consolidated as normal together with the other orders. Via the order analysis retrieval control configuration in the respective position, the retrieval control can now be assigned.

2. PROLAG®Go - Mobile Processes

Compress packing unit

Relevant module: Dispatch area (403-21)

Benefits: Packing units for a shipment can now be compressed using a mobile device at staging zones of the dispatch area. Less packaging is required, and the loading process is faster.

Description: Packing units can now be compressed using a mobile device at staging zones of the dispatch area if:
1. They belong to the same shipment.
2. They do not contain hazardous goods.
3. They are not waiting for feedback from the haulier.
4. The maximum allowed weight of the destination packing unit is not exceeded.
5. Packing of identical articles in the same packing unit is taken into account.

A source packing unit is scanned and the associated transport orders and goods are booked to the destination packing unit that also has to be scanned. The source packing unit is deleted along with the relevant lists. A printer station is then scanned or selected and the documents related to closing the packing unit are printed again.

Close filling of transport trolley

Relevant module: PROLAG®Go Storage with transport trolley (302-06)

Benefits: The transport trolley can be closed using the mobile device and is then immediately visible in priority mode.

Description: Up until now, a filled transport trolley with stock for putaway could only be closed using the ‘close transport trolley’ template, but not at the mobile I-point. If a trolley has not been closed, it is not visible in priority mode straight after putaway  with the mobile device. For each transaction in the ‘fill transport trolley’ process on the mobile device, which you can also jump to automatically at the end of the mobile I-point, the system now asks automatically whether you want to close the transport trolley. If there are no more free surface elements on the transport trolley, it is closed directly without a query. This means that the putaway transport trolleys are immediately available in priority mode after the mobile I-point.

3. Shipping

Fast packing of partial quantities

Relevant module: Packing area (403-01)

Benefits: With automatic fast packing, the user has the option of packing only some of the shipments if they do not all fit onto the collecting load unit, for example.

Description: The quantity of shipments to be packed can be entered in the dialog for automatic fast packing. If the shipments are being packed on a collecting load unit, a check is made in advance to see whether all the shipments fit onto the collecting load unit. If they do not, the system proposes the quantity for which there is still space on the collecting load unit. The reason for the change in quantity is also displayed.

Example:  Five identical shipments are to be packed, each with 1.0 piece of article 1001 and 2.0 pieces of article 1002. However, only four packing units fit on the previously selected collecting load unit. The fast packing dialog proposes a quantity of four shipments.

Packing area: new coloured column in stock table indicating whether serial numbers have to be scanned

Relevant module: Packing area (403-01)

Benefits: The user can now immediately see whether serial numbers have to be scanned at the packing area.

Description: There is a new "serial numbers" column in the stock table which is highlighted in colour if serial numbers have to be scanned. This can be the case if serial numbers have already been entered for the stock or if the serial numbers have to be entered at the packing area.

3. Automated storage

New template: Picking station

Relevant module: Conveyor technology/Automated storage (403-01)

Benefits: Migration of the functions from the old picking station template to the new template concept. The new template concept allows a much better visual display and more transparency. The visualisation is new, so that you can see which tray you should pick from and from what side. Stock separation criteria can be specified in an additional dialog.

Description: Migration of the functions for reduced retrieval and list splitting. Another new function is the NIO reason, which can be used to send a load unit to the NIO area and also lock the relevant stock. Additional information can also be displayed to the user. In addition, there are buttons from the old template concept such as ‘request LU’ (load unit), ‘retract source LU’ and ‘remove container’.

New template: Picking station - cross-shipment single picks can be selected in picking station definition

Relevant module: Conveyor technology/Automated storage (403-01)

Benefits: A setting can be made in the picking station definition determining that single-pick lists can be fitted in between other picks, provided that the relevant source load unit is at the picking station.

Description: If set accordingly in the picking station definition, single-pick lists can be fitted in between other picks (even if the picking station is processing one shipment only). This has the benefit that the source load unit does not have to be retrieved again for this list and can be processed immediately. However, it may interrupt the sequence intended by the auto storage manager, meaning there is no longer a guarantee that all picks are for the same shipment.

New template (can only be used with the new template concept):  Manual ejection from conveyor to picking station

Relevant module: Conveyor technology/Automated storage (403-01)

Benefits: The source load unit currently at the conveyor picking station can be ejected to a manual picking station for further processing. This allows to reduce potential blockages if a pick takes longer than expected due to particular circumstances. At a separate picking station, picks which require special handling can be processed in parallel.

Description: If the user decides that the current pick needs to be processed at a special picking station, e.g. for weight reasons, the consequence is that all further picks involving the source load unit take place in an area outside of the conveyor system. The relevant picking lists are therefore updated if the source load unit still contains stock reserved for orders or replenishment. In order not to hinder the picking of the remaining picks on these lists, a new list is created for the relevant transport orders. By splitting the picks and using another picking load unit, processing can be carried out separately or in parallel, wherever possible.

Global processes

Scheduled task: Book/consolidate lists

Relevant module: PROLAG®World Basic package

Benefits:  Faster throughput of goods.

Description: Using the scheduled task "book/consolidate lists", specific lists can be automatically booked to the destination or to consolidation. The task can only be used for putaway, picking and relocation lists that have the status "created" or "printed", are not currently being processed by a mobile device and do not require any special entries during picking. The search for the lists can be restricted further using the scheduled task parameters.

Example: All lists with the transport type "AUS" (OUT) in the picking area "HRL" (HIGH BAY) are to be automatically booked to the consolidation area "AUTO-CONS". Cross-docked goods can be booked automatically from the cross-docking area if, for example, goods are physically conveyed on a roller conveyor to shipping/goods issue.

Goods from production can be taken immediately to the goods issue area without going via consolidation. A scheduled task can be carried out every full hour, for example; a filter searches for special lists and posts them once every hour.

Set expiry date to last day of the month

Relevant module: Expiry date management (205-07)

Description: It is possible to define that the expiry date is always be set to the last day of the month if it is principally set, e.g. for putaway or production.

Example: At putaway, the expiry date is set to 04/01. This is rounded up to 31/01.
