Release notes 3.1.9

1. PROLAG®World Basic package

Multiple items for the same GTIN

Relevant module: PROLAG®World Basic package

Benefits: The GTIN can still be used to identify articles even if the articles are managed in different objects by owner.

Description: GTIN-to-article assignment is now owner-dependent. The owner of the assignment object always matches the owner of the article it contains. Database searches therefore only return assignments for the currently active owner. At the mobile I-point for scheduled putaway, the owner for the user (generally SUPER) is changed to to the owner for the current purchase order during article entry.

Example: The same article is managed in different host systems under different article numbers. In PROLAG®World, the host systems correspond to different owners. The article is therefore managed in a separate object for each owner. In the GTIN-to-article assignment, the same GTIN is assigned to these objects because they are the same article.

2. Goods issue

Goods issue stock actions in delivery order and customer master

Relevant module: Action schedules and action calendars (205-42)

Benefits: Goods issue stock actions to be performed after picking and before the normal goods issue stations can now be specified in the delivery order and customer master.

Description: The stock action from the customer master is automatically transferred to the delivery order if no stock action has been stored in the delivery order. After picking, the goods are delivered to the stock action area. As soon as the stock action has been carried out, the list can be transported on to the next station (e.g. the packing area).

Example: For customer X, the goods should always be serviced at a special workstation before they are dispatched.

3. Global processes

Stocktaking - Handling of serial numbers for otherwise identical goods and serial number entry by means of mobile device

Relevant module: Serial number administration (205-04) and PROLAG®Go - stocktaking (305-06)

Benefits: During inventory, goods with serial numbers are bundled in a meaningful way for the user. Serial numbers can now be entered on mobile devices.

Description: Previously, it was possible for two goods items (30 and 20 pieces respectively) on the same load unit to differ in terms of the serial number pool. However, since employees will expect to be asked for the quantity (50 pieces) once during stocktaking, this is now also summarised in this way. The extension also includes serial number entry on mobile devices. Based on the quantity of serial numbers scanned, this is equated with the previous process (enter quantity and then confirm) so that either the quantity is entered or the serial numbers are scanned. Error handling remains as is. Manual intervention is required in the event of quantity deviations or should the scanned serial numbers differ from the expected ones.

4. PROLAG®Go

Loading with mobile devices: more information in dock selection

Relevant module: Dock and yard management (205-35)

Benefits: The tablet now displays even more information, namely all future occupancies.

Description: More information for dock selection when dock and yard is active. Even without a current occupancy, future occupancies (within the next four hours) are displayed. The information is now also displayed on mobile devices.

Display additional texts for packing area when skipping packing area

Relevant module: PROLAG®Go Basic package

Benefits: Employees receive additional information or packing instructions on their  mobile device for finished load units that do not have to be explicitly packed at the packing area

Description: Following scanning of the printer station and printing of the associated shipping label, additional texts of the type PACKING AREA TEXT OUTPUT, PACKING AREA CALL TEXT DIALOG and PACKING AREA END TEXT DIALOG specified for the order and/or the delivery item are displayed to employees on their mobile device.

Scan GS1 barcode in retrieval/relocation with picking with restorage process

Relevant module: undergoing clarification

Benefits: Scanning of the GS1 barcode and the capacity for entry of multiple values (instead of individually entering article, batch and expiry date) mean that processes at the mobile device are speeded up.

Description

The GS1 barcode for the article can be scanned at the mobile device for the following processes:

  • Picking/Relocation
  • Putaway (addition to stock/addition to load unit)
  • Direct relocation of stock (different articles at location)
  • Quantity correction (different articles at location)

The article, batch and expiry date are extracted from the barcode and no longer need to be queried individially.

The storage areas must include an option for configuring mobile devices in which the setting 'Scan barcode on/off' can be activated.

5. Production

Display only orders permitted at the workstation on which the user is working

Relevant module: Production (5XX)

Benefits:The production template no longer finds production orders for which processing is not allowed at the workstation on which the user is working.

Description: An error message occurs when the user looks for an order for which processing is not allowed at the workstation on which they are working. Such orders are excluded from the selection results when no search criteria is specified.

Processing of production orders is not allowed when

  • users are logged onto workstations at which production locations have been predefined
  • and the production location for the relevant order has not been predefined in the current workstation. .

Example: A user has logged onto workstation AS01 (predefined production locations: PO01, PO02, PO03). The user looks for order PA01 with production location PO04. The following error message appears: "Processing of production order PA01 with production location PO04 is not allowed at workstation AS01."

Automatic creation of production orders

Relevant module: Production (505-03)

Benefits: PROLAG®World can use the new scheduled task 'Automatically create production orders' to automatically initiate production.

Description: The new scheduled task 'Automatically create production orders' creates new automatically generated production orders as needed or expands existing orders proivided that they have not been reserved.

Example: The scheduled task is performed. The minimum stock level for a bill of material definiton is not reached. The 'calculation of automatic production' action class calculates the quantity to be produced. No suitable automatically generated production order is available and a new production order is generated and created.
