Our current standard is a major release and brings several transformative developments to completion. Alongside 50+ incremental enhancements, two flagship innovations stand out: a comprehensive automated system simulation in the form of a digital twin and a completely redesigned rights management system. Additional highlights include the integration of Modula lifts and the ability to enter value-added services directly at the shelf during order picking.
The highlights at a glance
Digital twin: full automated system simulation
The new release introduces a includes a digital twin for simulating complex automated environments. This virtual mirror of real operations allows companies to plan and implement automated warehouse environments. Customers benefit thanks to a significantly lower implementation risk. In addition, the connection of new automated warehouses can be carefully planned and tested in advance. In existing automated warehouses, the digital twin makes it possible to implement optimizations, check them and then test them for errors. Automated system simulation is also used in the training of neural networks (artificial intelligence) in automated warehouses.
This marks a strategic milestone for CIM, as the digital twin also establishes a future-ready foundation for AI innovation. It allows us to merge the long-term potential of artificial intelligence with tangible improvements in ongoing customer projects—balancing bold research with practical reliability. It also allows us to maximize the added value of our developments while reducing the risks associated with research in new areas such as artificial intelligence. With the digital twin, CIM has succeeded in creating a basis for future AI developments. And with the 5.5.1 standard, existing projects are better tested before go live, with a measurable reduction in errors even before commissioning begins.
As a result, logistics and IT teams are provided with a realistic environment in which bottlenecks, throughput scenarios and malfunctions can be tested in advance and without interrupting ongoing operations. Companies can then make informed decisions before investing in new automation technology. The ability to combine simulation, AI model preparation and risk mitigation in a single platform is still extremely uncommon in the WMS sector. This not only strengthens PROLAG World’s market position, but also reinforces its reputation as a leading solution for high-complexity and highly automated warehouse landscapes.
Modula shuttle connection
Warehouses are getting smarter — and now, they’re better connected too. With the brand-new Modula Link, automation technology from Modula can now be seamlessly integrated into PROLAG World. So, what does that really mean? In short, companies can unlock the full potential of their existing storage space thanks to Modula's space-saving solutions. But the upgrade doesn’t stop at saving space. PROLAG World users can now also use and control add-on tools such as laser pointers, put-to-light systems or LED strips. Users benefit not only from the physical optimizations made to the Modula lifts, but also thanks to the optimized picking strategies built right into the system.
For fast-growing warehouses or facilities where every square meter counts, this means that picking processes can be controlled more accurately and space utilization significantly improved. Close integration with PROLAG World also allows centralized control without additional interfaces, thereby reducing IT effort and complexity.
Rights management: enhanced rights configuration
PROLAG World offers comprehensive and granular settings for assigning user rights. This means that it is possible to specify exactly which parts of the interface users are allowed to see and use and which settings they are allowed to make. And the new central rights configurator lets managers assign permissions clearly and efficiently based on predefined user roles. The result? More security and faster onboarding.
In dynamic warehouse structures with changing roles and temporary employees, the enhanced rights configuration ensures greater security and faster administration. Managers can consistently manage authorizations without having to dig deep into technical details.
Mobile processes – enter value-added services on the go during order picking
VAS can now be entered directly in mobile picking processes. This means that value-adding activities going beyond warehouse billing can be entered in the warehouse staff's workflow without interruptions, documentation or subsequent processing. The function includes entry per delivery order, delivery item or pick depending on how the service is to be billed. And when paired with the warehouse billing plus module, this function becomes a powerful all-in-one feature for entering, evaluating and invoicing logistics services without a third-party system.
Logistics service providers can then keep track of additional services at all times and bill them without media breaks. Transparency for customers is increased and administrative effort in invoicing is reduced.
